Read alongs for popular Chinese books on YouTube

Looking for audio and read along videos for popular Chinese books? See below for YouTube videos and links of some of our favorite books that we carry at Lotus Leaf Books. Audio recordings or read alongs can be highly useful for children, especially if parents or caregivers are not fluent in Mandarin Chinese and want to check your pronunciation.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - 好饿的毛毛虫

This timeless Eric Carle book has been translated into Chinese. We especially love the board book version, which comes with sturdy die cut outs so children can interact with all the foods that the caterpillar eats! If you purchase from Lotus Leaf books, you'll receive a free print out pinyin and vocabulary guide.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 棕色的熊,棕色的熊,你在看什么?

Another Eric Carle favorite - this is a great book to introduce colors and animals in Mandarin to babies and toddlers. This read along on Youtube is the perfect complement to storytime.

From Head to Toe 从头动到脚

This is probably my daughter's favorite book - she spent an afternoon reading this with her grandpa and is obsessed with acting out all of the movements! This is a great book to further reinforce animal names in Chinese and also introduce body parts and movements.

Dear Zoo - 亲爱的动物园

Dear Zoo is a delightfully cute lift-the-flap book that introduces children to various animals and their characteristics. My daughter especially loves this book because of the puppy that appears at the end! Follow along in Chinese with this read-a-long video.
