For most books, we include a free pinyin/vocabulary guide if you select one at purchase. A pinyin guide is a separate printout that includes the entire book transliterated into pinyin. This is especially helpful if you are familiar with pinyin but are not a native speaker and cannot read Chinese fluently. See our photo below for an example from Big and Small.

Books have varying levels of difficulty. Check out the preview photos for each of our books to get an idea of the level of vocabulary in each book.

If you are familiar with pinyin and you are conversational in Mandarin Chinese, you should be able to read most of the books with the help of the pinyin guide.

If you are not proficient in speaking Mandarin and/or not familiar with pinyin, these books will be difficult for you to read.

All of our books are in Simplified Chinese.

We offer a curated selection of books so you don't have to go through the effort of finding good quality books. Our books are either translated American classics, award winning Chinese books, or highly-rated and popular books.

Lotus Leaf Books is based in the US and we source our books from China. All prices are in USD.

US shipping is free on all orders over $35 and books will be shipped with Media Mail.

Shipping for orders under $35 is $6 per order.

Orders will be processed within 2-3 business days. Orders ship from Massachusetts and Media Mail can take 2-10 business days to arrive depending on the destination.
